Below are various internships and fellowships for undergraduate or graduate students.  Please contact us at TCPRC if you are interested in opportunities with the California Tobacco Prevention Program or a local county health department's tobacco program.

Saving Our Legacy (SOL)

The SOL Project advocates for healthy, smoke-free communities for African Americans and other populations who suffer disproportionately as a result of social conditions and tobacco use. The SOL Project is currently accepting applications for a paid internship (see information below).


Latino Coordinating Center for a Tobacco-Free Coalition

The Latino Coordinating Center for a Tobacco-Free California (LCC) is now accepting applications for the fall cohort of the LCC Internship Program, which provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable skills while supporting the work of the LCC and its mission to reduce tobacco-related disparities among Latino communities throughout California.

Pathways​

California Pathways into Public Health (Pathways) is an innovative program that provides training, hands-on work experience, and ongoing support through two efforts: a Fellowship Program and an Internship Program. 

Internship Program

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) offers paid internships for undergraduate and graduate students. Internships provide opportunities to work in a variety of different public health disciplines such as health education, epidemiology, health statistics, laboratory sciences, public policy, healthcare administration, human resources, information technology, data science, informatics, and communications.


California Council on Science and Technology:

CCST Fellowship

For postdoctoral scholars and PhD holders, the California Council for Science & Technology (CCST) Science & Technology Policy Fellowship provides a one-year opportunity to work in Sacramento, contributing scientific expertise to state policymaking. Fellows receive training in public policy and leadership while serving in the California State Legislature and Executive Branch.
