Pharmacy and Tobacco Retail License Data Tool
The TCPRC team has created a new data tool for individuals interested in looking up pharmacies with a tobacco retail license in their county. Data are from the Board of Pharmacy at California Department of Consumer Affairs (BOP-DCA) and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) as of January 1, 2026.

California Tobacco-Related Data Dashboard
The California Tobacco Prevention Program's (CTPP) Evaluation and Surveillance Section is announcing the soft launch of a new data tool: the California Tobacco-Related Data Dashboard. This tool is composed of two data dashboards, providing public access to tobacco-related state and county data estimates used by the California Tobacco Prevention Program. Data estimates are mainly from CTPP’s evaluation and surveillance projects. The state dashboard also provides disparity metrics used by CTPP to track progress in accelerating the decline in tobacco-related disparities.

Student Health: The 2023 California Youth Tobacco Survey is an annual survey of 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students that is designed to provide county and statewide estimates of tobacco and marijuana use among youth in California.

Cancer: The California Cancer Registry's Cal Explorer tool provides detailed statistics for a cancer site by gender, race/ethnicity, age, county/region, and for a select number of cancer sites, by histology. The California Cancer Registry's "Burden of Tobacco-Related Cancers 1988-2017" includes county-level incidence and mortality rates for 2013-2017 of the 12 types of tobacco-related cancer, compared to the state average, in Appendix 1 (pg. 45).

The Tobacco-Related Disparity Indicators Dashboard by California Tobacco Prevention Program, California Department of Public Health features an interactive dashboard for 17 indicators by key demographics.
Two groups that have high rates of smoking and vaping-- Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (NHPI) and the LGBTQ community -- are featured in these special California Health Interview Survey NHPI and LGBTQ reports that demonstrates specific barriers to quitting: costs of cessation therapies and a lack of culturally specific care.
