Below are letters and statements by health care and public health organizations about the elimination of the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) Office of Smoking and Health.  The CDC Office of Smoking and Health provided grants to support state tobacco prevention and cessation efforts, conducted the national media campaign "Tips from Former Smokers", and funded state quitlines for telephone-based counseling services.
